After a lazy, hot day motor sailing along the sole of Italy we made for the marina at Rocella Ionica for the night.
There was much talk along the coast of Mafia getting EU funds to built the place but already it was silting up. I aborted my approach when the depth got down to 2m but a friendly coast guard boat led me in along an unmarked channel which involved going into the beach and then out along the western mole.
